Lawn Spray Warning:
I will be attempting to stop all City Offices, Road Side, and Park Areas from engaging in any chemical spraying that can harm our citizens and our wildlife. This will immediately reduce costs to the Taxpayers and improve our air quality and health. I urge you to consider your own health and cost of upkeep to your home. For your health and the health of your family members, it is better not to spray your lawn with chemical fertilizers. Consider the damage that is done to water in our lakes and storm sewers by chemical fertilizers. These fertilizers are a main cause of damage to our lakes and wildlife. They are also a serious cause for concern regarding human cancers. Cancer related deaths in the US are at an all time high. Conventional Drug Treatments do not cure cancer. Often they do nothing except offer a little extra time before death occurs. By not spraying your lawn, you are reducing harm to yourself, your family, your friends, wildlife and the environment. Make sure that you and your pets are not walking on sprayed lawns. Harmful petrochemicals are included in herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers. These chemicals remain on lawns long after they have been applied. Consider that some of these chemicals work for several months. These chemicals can be tracked in on shoes and penetrate socks and bare feet. These chemicals can also penetrate the soft padded tissues of dog and kitty feet. If for some reason you or your pets do walk on sprayed lawns or gardens, it is a great idea to wash their paws as soon as they get into their living quarters. Dogs and cats like to lick their feet. If you or other human companions walk on contaminated lawns especially when playing golf, take shoes off before walking into your house or apartment. Make sure that your companion animals do not drink any water that is by the roadside. Lawn sprays contaminate roadside water. Monitor your neighbors’ yards to see if they are spraying. If they do not have weeds and dandelions on their lawn, you can rest assure that they are spraying no matter what they tell you. Be careful not to allow your pet into their yards. |
